While much of the current research and media focus is on the potential uses of psychedelic drugs in a clinical context, psychedelics have been used for thousands of years for a variety of purposes, not all of which fit neatly into a Western medical paradigm or involve solving specific problems. While these applications may not get the attention and big money funding that clinical applications do, the Beckley Foundation believes that psychedelics should be available for use by any who can benefit, regardless of whether they have a diagnosed medical condition or not.
As part of a more holistic and equitable approach to psychedelic science, we are dedicated to carrying out novel research projects in collaboration with institutions around the world, investigating the effects of psychedelic compounds on creativity, wellbeing, and spirituality.
