‘The Sunshine Makers’ is the new documentary directed by Cosmo Feilding-Mellen, son of Amanda Feilding. Exploring the story of Nick Sand and Tim Scully, the creators of the now famous Orange Sunshine LSD, ‘The Sunshine Makers’ tells of the duo’s mission to ‘turn on the world’ throughout the 1960s and 70s.
The film has been met with a rapturous response at screenings. The Daily Beast said:
Mellen’s depiction of erudite chemists making huge batches of drugs, as well as smuggling supplies across state and international borders, naturally invites comparisons to Breaking Bad. Yet what sets The Sunshine Makers apart from its fiction and non-fiction peers is its snapshot of clashing cultural notions of right and wrong.
